Annual summer camp for the Scouts of 2nd Inverness (Kingsmills) Scout Troop, who were again joined by a Patrol from 31st Inverness (Aviemore) Scout Troop. The Troop returned to Durinish, near Kyle of Lochalsh for the first time in 4 years, with a range of traditional scouting activities onsite, inlcluding hiking, survival skills, the Annual Patrol Leaders Diversion (a suprise overnight adventure for Patrol Leaders, where they are given upto 10 minutes warning that they are going!). Day trips to the south of Skye visiting Glenelg, Kylerhea and Kyleakin, and a to the north of Skye, visiting Portree, Staffin, The Quirang and Uig. There was also an afternoon out to Kyle of Lochalsh.
Duirinsh is a bizarre site and place. The hamlet is a crofting area, and the railway station is a request stop, so to board the train, you actually need to flag it down!
