Arrochar Scouts - Summer BBQ

School holidays approaching and we close the formal scout season with our traditional summer BBQ on the banks of Loch Lomond. We'll still have a few activities during the holidays but we normally take a rest from regular Monday meetings. But we've got one last surprise in store for tomorrow night (24 June)
It's a fantastic night and we have a splendid turnout of beavers, cubs, scouts and parents. The District Commissioner even comes along to present wood beads. Thanks Pam.
We have moved a bit further north this week, enjoying the hospitality of our friends and leaders in Ardlui. We soon have a fire blazing down by the lochside and a separate BBQ is rigged up. It's not long before we have a few wet scouts. We'd tried to distract them with a game of rounders, but the temptation to paddle and to swim is just too great !
We have burgers, hot dogs, drinks, water melon, and ice lollies. Thanks to all the organisers, drivers and cooks, and thanks to all the volunteer scout leaders for their hard work in 2008.
