How do I add an image to my blog or activity?
If you want to include a photo in your blog or activity, please select the Insert/edit Image icon in the toolbar, which looks like this:
When the window appears, click the browse icon, which looks like this
, next to ‘Image URL’. Selecting ‘Browse...’ to choose the file on your computer you want, then select ‘Upload File’. Once the file has uploaded, you can then select ‘add’ next to the filename, or select the filename and then the image when it appears.
How do I post a video?
There are two ways to do this:
1) The ‘Post a video’ links.
2) The ‘Post a Past Activity’ links.
Here you can fill in the date and details of your event and also upload a video or image of it. Remember to include the number of people attended as each person counts towards our target of one million new adventures.
How do I post a blog?
If you want to tell everyone about the fun and adventure you or the young people you are in charge of regularly have outdoors, then why not start a blog? Click on ‘Post a blog’, fill in your details and away you go – let your online outdoors diary begin!
Tags are a list of useful words to describe your activity. When someone searches on kidsoutdoors.com, the tags are used to help them find relevant activities or events.
How do I post a past activity?
If you’ve held an event recently and want to tell everyone how it went then click on this link. Here you can fill in the date and details of your event and also upload a video or image of it. Remember to include the number of people attended as each person counts towards our target of one million new adventures.
If you do not have an image or video, maybe you would prefer to write a blog or use the Shout box?
How do I post an upcoming activity?
If you are holding an event that anyone can attend, click Post an Upcoming Activity.
Remember to include some ‘tags’, useful words to describe your activity, so that when someone searches for an activity, they can find yours. What is the best way to view the site on my computer? This site is best viewed at 1280x1024 32bit.
How do I report inappropriate content?
If you read or view something on kidsoutdoors.com that upsets you, please report this immediately to the KidsOutdoors Team by emailing: kids.outdoors@scout.org.uk. Once notified we will act upon your message as soon as possible.
Videos, blogs or activities all have ‘Flag Inappropriate Content’ or ‘Flag’ options, which allow you to report that you have a problem with that particular piece of content.
