Hiking in the Lake District

Just spent a very wet day in the Lakes looking at activities for a summer camp. Completed a hike with 3 PL's up to Stickle Tarn - very wet and low cloud - normal lake district day really !!!
Anyone know of any great free activities in the South Lakes for scouts to do in the evenings - already have a full schedule of daytime activities.
