Wow! What an action-packed weekend Gilwell Park’s Winter Camp was! It all started off on Friday night, with a bit of rain (typical). But that definitely didn't dampen any spirits. After setting up camp in what felt like a monsoon, we all headed down to a huge disco. Here I got to meet new friends and just have a good time.
By Saturday morning, activities were well under way and we were all covered in mud from head to toe. But that just added extra challenge to it all. I took part in numerous activities, some more adventurous than others. My favourite by far was zorbing. That was a lot of fun and something that I wouldn't have been able to do in otherwise.
I also enjoyed the revolving rock climbing wall. To begin with, I found it quite easy, until they turned the speed up, and it was by far more of a challenge!
I was also luckily enough to have a go on the 3G Swing. That was an adventure in itself. When I was released from a great height, I found myself dropping to the floor at rapid speed, and then swinging back and forth mid air.
It was very scary to begin with, but everyone encouraged me into doing it because otherwise 'I was missing out.' I would highly recommend it to all!
Overall, the weekend was one big action-packed adventure, and probably one of the best camps I've ever been on. Will I be doing it next year? Without a doubt!
